Discover the Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Walking Oct 8-11

There were 42 walks on the programme. Many People enjoyed Exploring the historic township of Lyttelton and scenic harbour communities. The walks are selected by locals who want to share their proven very best tracks, information and routes with you!

Guided or freedom walking we have graded easy, medium of fit. You can follow your special interests, maybe take the steepest, laziest, longest, flattest or most jewelled walk. There will be an Island Cruise walk,  a Photographic Shutterbug,  historic, a tour in Sir Miles Warren’s Garden,  a Nature Lovers Journey and even a Grim Tale Stroll at night.

One of the new walks includes a Coffee Passion Tasting Tour daily. You can walk, visit and sample coffee at six amazing coffee houses. If you are interested in a real challenge join our local tramping author and walk over to Sumner. If you choose to start over in Ferrymead on the Saturday or Sunday then connect with a Gondola ride.

* It is recommended you make reservations to avoid disappointment.
* There are three fitness, grades easy moderate and moderate plus.
* Most walks and tramps are in areas normally used and open to the public.
* Many of our guides are volunteers.
* Participants are responsible for their own safety, equipment, food, clothing and vehicles. If unsure please contact the organisers.
* Event meeting and departure points will be clearly marked by Festival of Walking signage.
* We recommend you arrive 10 minutes prior to the published departure time.
* If the walk has a fee please pay the guide at the start of the walk.
