... and what a wonderful conference/hui and weekend it has been! Without Lyttelton Timebankersit never would have happened, so nationwide thanks go to the lovely members who cooked up a storm (four different flavours of cup-cakes! Chef-cooked Mexican stews! Gourmet filled bagels! Decorated celebration cakes! Soups good enough to swim in! Melt-in your mouth pies! Delicious snacky morsels for the small hunger in-between!), who transported delegates around the place, who turned the school hall into a twinkling fairy den, and not to forget the lovely people who helped sew the welcome bags and the bunting. Thanks to the conference elves who worked tirelessly to make everything neat, tidy and inviting. And a special thanks to the hosts - remarks I heard from the delegates to describe their billet all were along the line of "It was the lap of luxury", "I stayed in a warm, cosy and homely room.", "If I come again, I will reserve my hosts, because they were the best!". Every single one of the guests loved it, so well done everyone! The conference brought all the different NZ Timebanks together, and over the next few weeks we will share some of the content and contacts that were made. We also had a swinging party on Saturday night, with a truly outstanding band. Heels were kicked up indeed, and here is a plea to the wonderful photographer NOT to make public all photos taken on the night! While some photos will show people gliding over the floor with graceful poise, there also will be photos of contorted gyrations, which are best consigned to the recycling bin!
So a BIG THANK YOU to one and all and here is a link to the card that was written by some delegates on the last morning. For more information on Time Banking within New Zealand and for details of the conference visit
