This is a monthly supplement in The Akaroa Mail. It has what’s on in the community, in depth interviews, articles seeding possibilities within the community, commentaries on significant issues.

In addition to the PPL email newsletter, the paper was started to further encourage clear communication channels within the community.

The Lyttelton News team chooses to take an Appreciative Inquiry approach in its writings – to focus attention on what is going well, drawing energy to that and so growing the aspects we actually like.

Ways you can help:

Offer to be a writer. You can do this as a one off experience or produce material on a more regular basis – both are appreciated.
Look out for newsworthy material and refer the matters to the team…
Take photos
Offer to organise a whole section – say children’s art or gardening or sports reviews…
Advertise - rates are available on request.
Write letters to the editor
Become a deliverer of the paper. PPL organises the delivery of The Akaroa Mail when the Lyttelton News supplement is included. This is once a month. This was initially set up to guarantee a 100% delivery rate. We have a good record. Deliverers donate their time – get exercise walking up and down the hills and get Time Bank credits for their work.
