Welcome to Lyttelton Time Bank

The Timebank is for people in our community want to share their skills. It is based on time. If you would like to join or find out more in person you can make an appointment with our TimeBank Member Coordinator, Julie Lee. Contact Project Lyttelton, Ph 328 9243 or Email the Coordinator.

The possibilities with Time Bank are almost limitless – Maybe you want someone to teach you another language, or help you organise a party, or maybe you’d like some company and help while you wall paper your lounge. Any work you do you get time credits which you can then use to in turn to receive the help you need. Open the TimeBank diagram to see how it works.

Read our Tmebank Blog and discover in depth how the Lyttelton Timebank is developing.

Resources

There are now some resources available to borrow if anyone would like more info. The Book by Edgar Kahn " No More Throw Away People" and copies of the DVD " The Two Faces of Money" are available, and are excellent sources of info to better understand the principles and practicalities of timebanking.

Margaret Jefferies is organising reading of the book by Edgar Kahn " No More Throw Away People"

Interested in Starting Your Own Timebank

We are interested in helping your groups or community to start a timebank. We have been well resourced by Project Lyttelton and the Tindall Foundation and have taken some time to adapt an international system to our local kiwi context. We would like to share our experience and resources with you. For more information contact Chris Twemlow our Project Coordinator. chris@lyttelton.net.nz
